Eisenhower Fellowships, a global program that identifies, empowers and connects innovative leaders, will convene its first ever conference in Africa on June 14 and 15.

The conference which features numerous high- profile speakers and Fellows takes place at the Kigali International Convention Centre and will be co-hosted by the Rwanda Development Board.

Endorsing the program, the Eisenhower Fellowships Kenya Chapter has secured 1 million shillings($10,000) in sponsorship from the Kenya Climate Innovation Center to sponsor delegates from Akili Dada, a non- profit leadership incubator that empowers young women from marginalized communities.

“The Kenya Climate Innovation Center (KCIC) empowers young people to develop business solutions that combat climate change,” Edward Mungai, Chief Executive of KCIC said in a statement issued in Nairobi on Tuesday.

“We are pleased to sponsor this inaugural Africa conference which will unlock key policy areas. By sponsoring the Kenya youth delegates, we at KCIC hope to expose them to the Eisenhower Fellowships global network, which includes leaders and influencers in the area of clean energy and technology,” he said.

Themed “One Africa: The Future of Africa Integration,” the conference will focus on the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
