Cameroon appoints new ‘General Coordinator’ for Indomitable Lions

    APA-Douala (Cameroon)

The Normalization Committee of the Cameroonian Football Federation (FECAFOOT) has announced the appointment of a new “General Coordinator” of the Indomitable Lions, Cameroon’s national football team.

The committee has appointed the former international footballer, Nicolas Dikoume, as General Coordinator to replace Luc Koa, an MP.

Dikoume graduated from the Higher School of Economics and Business (ESSEC) in Douala; has been an official of the Sports Union of Douala, and played with the Indomitable Lions in the 1990s.

FECAFOOT sources said the appointment of the General Coordinator precedes those of the technical staff members, including the coach of the Indomitable Lions, especially after the Normalization Committee’s decision to terminate the contract of the Belgian coach, Hugo Broos, among others, for “lack of results.”

Although he coached Cameroon when it was crowned African champions at the 31st edition of the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in January-February 2017, under the terms of his contract, the Belgian technician failed to qualify the Indomitable Lions for the FIFA World Cup in June 2018 in Russia.
