Glorious Accra Hearts of Oak on Sunday stretched their lead on the GFA Normalisation Committee Special Committee when they beat Elmina Sharks by 3-1 at the Accra Sports Stadium.

With 28 points, Hearts maintained their lead, with just a game to finish the first phase of the competition, thereby qualifying for the semi-finals of the competition, which will determine which teams qualify to represent Ghana in CAF championships next season.

Hearts got the first goal in the 45th minute through Chrispher Bonney from the spot and scored the second in the 49th minute through Manaf Umar Abdul's header.

Sharks responded five minutes later when Fekix Addo scored a goal to leave the score line at 2-1, but Fatau Mohammed of Hearts sealed victory for his side in the 63rd minute when he scored with a nice volley that was admired by the supporters who thronged the park to watch their darling team.

In Group A, Kumasi Asante Kotoko regained the top spot after beating Medeama SC 2-0 in Kumasi, propelling them to 21 points.
