The new cabinet comes 13 months ahead of the October 2020 presidential election.
Ten new faces have been included in the freshly minted cabinet.
They include ministers Vagondo Diomandé (Security and Civil Protection), Moussa Dosso (Animal and Fisheries Resources), Gaoussou Touré (Rice Promotion), Adama Coulibaly (Economy and Finance), Mamadou Sanogo (Digital Economy and Post Office) and Secretaries of State, Epiphane Zoro Bi (Capacity Building), Philippe Legré (in charge of Maritime Affairs), Brice Kouassi (in charge of Technical Education and Vocational Training), Mys Belmonde Dogo (in charge of Women’s Empowerment) and Koffi N’Guessan Lataye (in charge of Social Housing).
Most members of the old cabinet have retained their portfolios like ministers Hamed Bakayoko (Defence) Marcel Amon Tanoh (Foreign Affairs), Albert Mabri Toikeuse (Higher Education), Kandia Camara (National Education), Sansan Kambilé (Justice and Human Rights) Amadou Koné (Transport) and Alain Donwahi (Water and Forests)
The first cabinet meeting of the new government is scheduled for Thursday at the Presidency in Abidjan.
