    APA-Nouakchott (Mauritania) By Mohamed Moctar

Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz made a slight ministerial reshuffle on Friday, marked by the departure of Defence Minister Mohamed Ould Ghazouani, the favourite candidate for the presidential election later this year, the Presidency said Friday in a statement.

The Defence portfolio has been entrusted to Yahya Ould Hademine, former Prime Minister and previous Minister of State in charge of the Presidency, the statement added.

Two other ministers have changed portfolios: Naha Mint Hamdi Ould Ould Mouknass and Isselmou Ould Sid El Moktar Ould Lehbib.

The first one left the National Education and Vocational Training to become Minister of Hydraulics and Sanitation, replacing the second which secured the Equipment and Transport sector.

Ms. Mouknass’s former portfolio was attributed to Megboula Mint Limam Ould Bourdid, formerly Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister.
