The business climate in Senegal deteriorated by 4.1 percentage points in monthly variation at the end of January 2019, according to data from the Department of Forecast and Economic Studies (DPEE).

The synthetic indicator of this climate, calculated by the DPEE on the basis of the opinion balances of business leaders, stood at 96.2 points against 100.3 points in December 2018.

As a result, this indicator is below its long-term average of 100 bridges.

“This situation reflects the negative orientation of the opinion of industrialists, service providers and traders,” the DPEE said.

Over the year, the business climate indicator also declined by 2.1 points, from 98.3 points in January 2018 to 96.2 points in January 2019.
