Sanusi Currency Index shows 0.68% depreciation against dollar

The value of the SANUSI Currency Index shows a 0.68% depreciation of West African currencies against the US Dollar over the week (September 16-23, 2022).

The value of the Sierra Leonean Leone, Nigerian Naira, Gambian Dalasi, Ghanaian Cedi, CFA Franc, Cape Verdean Escudo, Central African CFA Franc, Botswana Pula, Angolan Kwanza, Kenyan Shilling, Ethiopian Birr, Moroccan Dirham and the Egyptian Pound depreciated against the US Dollar over the week.

However, the Liberian Dollar, South African Rand, Tanzanian Shilling, Guinean Franc, and the Algerian Dinar appreciated against the US Dollar over the period.

The SANUSI 18 Index is a basket of 18 African currencies.
