Togo appoints elections security force commander

The Director General of the Togolese police, Têko Koudouovoh, has been appointed commander of the 2018 elections security force (FOSE), a statement broadcast on state television (TVT).

Koudouovoh will lead a team including Divisional Police Commissioner Mikidjiébé Balate who will serve as FOSE 2018 Deputy Police Commander and Lieutenant Colonel Saparapa Ibouraima, appointed FOSE 2018 Deputy Commander Gendarmerie.

The 2018 Elections Security Force, created on August 28, is responsible for ensuring the security of all elections planned in Togo before the end of the year.

It is made up of 8,000 gendarmerie and police officers.

Koudouovoh led the Presidential Election Security Force (FOSEP) in 2015 and the Legislative Elections Security Force in 2013.
