Togo holds electrification strategy roundtable

The authorities in Togo on Wednesday launched a roundtable for donors and investors with a view to fast-tracking the country’s electrification program.

According to Abass Absoulaye, the Director General of Energy, the meeting aims to “showcase to the technical and financial partners Togo electricity strategy developed by the government through the National Agency for Rural Electrification and Renewable Energies”.

Developed by the ministry of Mines and Energy, the blueprint describes the roadmap for achieving the electrification of Togo which wants to reach a 100 percent rate by 2030.

The latest report puts Togo’s electrification rate at an estimated 47 percent.
