W/Cup decider: Morocco coach upbeat ahead of I/Coast showdown

    APA-Abidjan (C/Ivoire)

The French coach of Morocco’s Atlas Lions has said he cannot countenance defeat when his charges take on the Elephants of Cote d'Ivoire in their final World Cup group qualifier in Abidjan later on Saturday.

Herve Renard told journalists that the match would be exceptional, bearing all the trappings of an African Cup of Nations final.

"Therefore you have to play without sparing yourself in order to win it...but defeat never crossed my mind” Renard who coached the Ivorians to the 2015 title of the African Nations Cup in Equatorial Guinea said.

According to him, the more determined side will win the ticket to the World Cup in Russia in the summer of 2018.

Morocco who top Group C with nine points, one point more than second-placed Ivory Coast, will qualify if they can avoid defeat in Abidjan.
