    Zimbabwe music legend Oliver Mtukudzi dies

    Zimbabwean music superstar Oliver Mtukudzi died on Wednesday following a long battled with diabetes, according to media reports.

    According to the official Herald daily and the privately owned NewsDay, Mtukudzi, who was affectionately known as “Tuku” by his legion of fans, died at a private Harare hospital on Wednesday afternoon. He was 66.

    He has been in and out of hospital since the end of 2018 and has had to cancel several performances due to ill-health.

    No statement has been released yet by the family.

    Mtukudzi was the best known Zimbabwean musician, having shared the stage – and collaborated – with several artistes from Africa and abroad.
