Swaziland gears up for Incwala cultural festival

APA-Mbabane (Swaziland)

Swaziland is expected to literally come to a standstill for the better part of Saturday as the country observes of the Incwala cultural ceremony.

On Saturday King Mswati III will participate in the main dance which takes place halfway through the event that lands him into two-month seclusion and away from the public view other than the traditional warriors. The Minister for Commerce, Industry and Trade Jabulani Mabuza announced to the media Thursday that businesses are not allowed to operate at least until 6pm on Saturday. “Businesses that do not abide by the rules will be penalised. All businesses will however be allowed to open on Monday, despite the fact that the Incwala holiday has been shifted to this day,” said the minister.
