Congo, China sign four cooperation agreements

Congolese President Denis Sassou N’Guesso, on a state visit to China since Wednesday, has signed four economic and technical cooperation agreements with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping.

The initialed agreements cover a 26 billion CFA francs grant from China, the prevention of tax evasion, development of the Pointe-Noire economic area and economic and technical cooperation.

During his visit, Denis Sassou N’Guesso received a solemn welcome at the Great Hall of the People by his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping, before a meeting that brought the Chinese and Congolese delegations led by the two heads of state face to face.

President Sassou N’Guesso’s third state visit to China was dedicated to strengthening the 50-year-old bilateral cooperation and friendship between Brazzaville and Beijing.
