Outgoing President Mahama inaugurates AAU, WAEC head offices

Outgoing Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama has inaugurated two giant offices of the Association of African Universities and the West African Examination Council in Accra on Friday.

President Mahama first inaugurated the head office of the Association of African Universities in Accra, which comprises a three-storey facility with major components such as an administration block, research centre, conference centre and library designed to facilitate service delivery.

As part of his last minute inaugurations, President Mahama also inaugurated the head office the WAEC, which has operated in Ghana for about 46 years.

Work on the five-floor edifice, which dominates the skylines of Okponglo in Accra started in 2009 and was completed in October 2016 as the bigger WAEC office complex. Nigeria, Sierra Leone, The Gambia, Liberia and Ghana are members of the sub-regional body.
