The proposed one-day state visit to South Africa by Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro next week has been moved to a later date, a senior Pretoria official said Wednesday.
President Cyril Ramaphosa’s spokesperson Vincent Magwenya said Maduro is no longer going ahead with the state visit that was set for December 6.
“The state visit will take place on a date to be mutually agreed by both counties through diplomatic channels,” Magwenya said in a statement.
He did not give a reason for the postponement of the one-day state visit.
The official had earlier this week announced that the visit by Maduro was meant to strengthen the already strong relations between South Africa and Venezuela.
