Postal Union (UPU) around the theme: “African Posts on the Path to Digital Transformation and Innovation.”
The forum brings together postal executives, regulators, policymakers and technical experts from across Africa to address the most pressing challenges and opportunities for the postal sector in the context of changing market needs in a rapidly expanding digital economy.
During the conference, African postal leaders will discuss current issues in accelerating the digital transformation of posts in Africa, as well as sharing best practices and concrete examples of postal
digital transformation on the continent.
They will also discuss these issues with other providers of new digital services, in order to raise the stakes and relevance of the digital transformation of posts, and the role of the postal network in the development of national and regional digitisation strategies.
This space will also provide an opportunity to profile collaboration between postal sector players and e-commerce platforms and online merchants, and the harmonization of rules in different regions and
fields (e.g. commerce, finance, and communications).
The three-day event will feature panel discussions, presentations and round-table discussions, under the auspices of the UPU, a specialised agency of the United Nations system dedicated to fostering the
development and cooperation of the world’s postal systems.
The UPU was the first international organization to standardise the postal systems of its member countries.
