Abu Dhabi is gearing up to host in November the Global Media Congress, a signature event for some of the world’s media industry giants slated for November, 2022.
The congress courtesy of the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC Group) in cooperation with the Emirates News Agency (WAM) under the patronage of the Deputy Prime Minister Minister of the Presidential Court of the UAE, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, will take place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Centre (ADNEC).
Acting as a flagship platform for the world’s key media stakeholders to rub minds on the workings and trends of the industry, the congress is looking to live up to its global reputation in its attraction of journalists, digital marketing professionals, content creators, streaming giants, entertainment executives and regulators among others.
!,200 delegates are expected to attend the event which will also witness the participation of some 200 media company CEOs and over world renowned speakers to animate a series of thought leadership sessions and debates.

Its list of confirmed speakers include Zimbabwe’s Minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services, Ms. Monica Mutsvangwa, Mohammed Jalal Alrayssi who is the Director-General of the Emirates News Agency (WAM), and Naji Gouiaa, the CEO of MediaCity Mauritius.
In a statement from a website dedicated to the run-up to the event, organisers say the GMC is tailored to ”leverage countless networking opportunities” for participants to share ”ground-breaking ideas and cutting-edge solutions shaping the future of the industry”.
It will also be instrumental in facilitating crucial knowledge exchanges and generate a congenial atmosphere to strike business partnerships among media professionals from around the world.
”With an emphasis on disruption, the session at the conference will focus on AI and data, disruptive technology Upskilling and future human needs, consumer behaviour, content creation, key media trends and forecasts” its organisers say.
The event is being held in partnership with the Emirates News Agency and the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) which are its main sponsors.
