The World Health Organisation has warned that coronavirus infections are gathering momentum across Africa.
According to the WHO regional director for Africa Matshidiso Moeti, for the first time infections are transcending big populated metropolis and reaching other parts of the continent hitherto less affected by the pandemic.
Moeti said countries on the continent are running out of medical supplies needed to conduct tests and augment the fight against the pandemic.
Africa is still the continent with the least number of cases.
