APA – Abidjan (Cote d’Ivoire) Africa Global Logistics (AGL), Africa’s leading Logistics Company, on Monday in Abidjan, signed a partnership agreement to become the official sponsor of the Ivorian Football Federation (FIF), three months ahead of the 2023 African Cup of Nations (AfCON), to be held in Cote d’Ivoire.
AGL becomes the major partner of the Ivorian Football Federation for all competitions involving the national team “Les Elephants,” including the U15 and 17 categories, from 2023 to 2027, i.e. for four years.
According to the Chairman of the Board of Directors, this agreement “is the fruit of a shared desire to support young people and promote the values of sport in Africa, and more particularly in Côte d’Ivoire.”
This partnership with FIF reflects this commitment to young people, with the aim of cultivating in them essential values such as team spirit, discipline, solidarity and excellence. These are fundamental qualities for success in sports.
For Africa Global Logistics (AGL), these values are also essential markers for the professional and personal future of young people. The company is therefore committed to supporting the emergence of future African leaders.
AGL will be displayed on all technical media, such as ticketing, pitch markings and uniforms, throughout the partnership period. Supporting African youth through football For AGL, African youth is at the heart of its commitment to the continent’s development.
This partnership, which comes just a few months ahead of the AfCON 2023, scheduled to take place from 13 January to 11 February 2024 in Côte d’Ivoire, is of vital importance to AGL, which will be supporting the national football team during this prestigious competition.
A symbolic alliance for AGL
Established in Cote d’Ivoire for several decades, AGL now has more than 1,500 Ivorian employees, present in particular through its branches in Abidjan, San Pedro, Bouake, Ferkessedougou and Ouangolodougou.
As a corporate citizen, AGL plays a significant social role in the development of Cote d’Ivoire. The company is committed to investing in the training and employability of young people, while preserving the local environment.
This partnership with FIF reinforces this commitment by making sport, and football in particular, a powerful vehicle for personal development and social cohesion. In addition to financial support for the installation and deployment of FIF projects, AGL is committed to creating opportunities for young Ivorian talent by promoting the development of modern sports infrastructures.
With this sponsorship, AGL wants to affirm to young people in Africa, and in Cote d’Ivoire, that every young talent has the right to dream big and aim for excellence.
At the heart of the major events that make Africa tick
The announcement of this partnership comes on the eve of the next African Cup of Nations (AfCON), which will be held in Cote d’Ivoire. This strategic alliance is of paramount importance to AGL and the FIF, who will together support the ‘Elephants’ national team during this prestigious pan-African competition.
“Our partnership with the Federation Ivoirienne de Football demonstrates our commitment to Africa’s youth. We are convinced that football is a powerful tool for promoting positive values and supporting the personal development of young people. As Ivorians, and key employers in the country, we are proud to be involved in building a better future for Ivorian youth,” she said.
“There is an African Cup of Nations that we will have to prepare for in terms of organisation and sport, that we will have to go and get with the team that is there, but after the African Cup of Nations, Côte d’Ivoire continues to live and Ivorian football continues to live,” pointed out the President of the FIF, Yacine Idriss Diallo.
This partnership is also “a CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) action, because you are supporting us with young people and the national team. We are delighted and honoured by this trust,” he added.
“We will do everything humanly possible to deserve this trust and to ensure that, beyond the sporting aspect, the training aspect, the coaching aspect and the support aspect for young people, who are the future of this country, are taken into account,” he went on.
Yacine Idriss Diallo said that the federation was honoured to count AGL among its partners, praising its commitment to young people and its expertise in logistics, which will inevitably play a key role in the development of football in Cote d’Ivoire.
The signing ceremony was attended by former glories and legends of Ivorian football, including the winners of the 92 and 2015 African Cup of Nations. For Abdoulaye Traore, aka Ben Badi, it was a moment of great emotion to see the agreement signed.
