APA – Cotonou (Benin) – Throughout this month of October, AGL (Africa Global Logistics) in Benin, committed to the fight against breast cancer, actively participated in the global “Pink October” initiative to support the fight against breast cancer.
On Thursday October 19, the various AGL branches in Benin mobilised at the company’s headquarters in Cotonou to organise screening sessions and awareness-raising workshops to highlight the importance of early detection and regular medical check-ups.
Employees of AGL-Benin, Bénin Terminal, SMTC, SOCOPAO and SEP participated with great interest in the information and awareness session led by Dr. Zayd Olatoundji, a specialist in gynaecology and obstetrics from the Louis Pasteur Clinic.
For the 2023 edition of Pink October, AGL in Benin has responded positively to the members of WILA (Women in Logistics Africa), who wanted the members of this non-profit association to benefit from the programme implemented by AGL in Benin.
“By mobilising against breast cancer, AGL in Benin reaffirms its commitment to the health of its employees, which is a key priority. This awareness day reflects our desire as a corporate citizen to inform and involve our employees in the effective fight against breast cancer,” says Venance Lubin GNIGLA, Executive Chairman of AGL (Africa Global Logistics) in Benin.
Pink October is an annual international event to raise awareness of the importance of breast cancer screening during the month of October.
Breast cancer, which affects an average of one in eight women, is now the most common cancer in the world.
