APA-Rabat (Morocco) – The Manama Arab Summit supports the Skhirat political agreement for reconciliation in Libya.
At the 33rd Arab summit in Manama, Bahrain, it was confirmed that the political agreement signed in 2015 in Skhirat remains the essential framework for national reconciliation in Libya and for ensuring ownership of the political process by the Libyans themselves.
The report by the Presidency of the summit highlighted the kingdom of Morocco’s efforts to facilitate compromises between the Libyan parties and move towards a consensual solution. This report, approved by the follow-up body at its meeting on the sidelines of the summit, underlines the crucial role played by Morocco in
this process.
It also refers to the communiqué issued by the Secretary General of the League of Arab States on 8 June 2023, which welcomes the holding in Morocco of the meetings of the joint commission responsible for preparing the electoral laws in Libya, which took place in Bouznika from May 22, 2023.
