Two attacks were perpetrated on Sunday night against Ivorian army positions in Kafolo (Kong) and Tehini (Bouna), near the border with Burkina Faso, leaving at least four people dead.
According to a security source, on Sunday night, individuals using firearms attacked Ivorian army positions in Kafolo (Kong), trying to penetrate the Armed Forces of (FACI) cantonment. The attack was followed by retaliation from Ivorian forces who are “currently sweeping the area.”
Two terrorists killed and several items seized, including two AK 47 rifles, the same source added, adding that one soldier was slightly injured. Other security sources reported two deaths on the side of the Ivorian army in Kafolo.
Another attack was perpetrated in the locality of Tehini (Bouna) in the north-east of Cote d’Ivoire, leaving at least one dead and one wounded.
A first attack on the Ivorian army’s position in Kafolo in the far north of the country in June 2020 left a dozen Ivorian armed forces dead.
