APA- Rabat (Morocco) – As part of the 3rd edition of the specialised training cycle for African Union election observers, Bankole Adeoye, its Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace and Security, met the
Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Bourita, in Rabat.
Bankole Adeoye, Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace and Security of the African Union (AU), praised Morocco’s efforts to strengthen transparent and credible democratic governments at a meeting in Rabat
on Tuesday.
He highlighted the AU Commission’s recognition of Morocco’s role in promoting democracy, pointing out that since 2022, more than 150 African experts have received training in the Cherifian Kingdom,
setting a significant record.
Adeoye also stressed the importance of Agenda 2063 for greater participation by women and young people in political processes, as well as the need to consolidate democracy by promoting full social
participation.
The Nigerian diplomat praised Morocco’s ongoing commitment to training African experts, stressing the importance of consolidating constitutionalism and respect for human rights for Africa’s prosperity.
This training, organised under the aegis of King Mohammed VI, is part of Morocco’s commitment to consolidating democratic governance in Africa, within the framework of a solid partnership with the AU.
The 3rd edition of the specialised training cycle for AU election observers opened on Tuesday 29 April in Rabat under the direction of Bankole Adeoye and Nasser Bourita.
