The European Union has clarified its role in Nigeria’s general elections later this month, dismissing perceived notions of interference in the country’s internal affairs as erroneous.

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Ayawso West Wuogon Constituency in
the Greater Accra Region, Ms. Lydia Seyram Alhassan, on Wednesday
visited gunshot victims in the just-ended elections which brought her
to Parliament.

The 1st Deputy Speaker of the Ghanaian Parliament, Mr. Joe Osei-Owusu,
has directed that the conduct of some minority Members of Parliament (MPs)
for displaying placards bearing the inscription “bloody wido” during their
protest against the swearing in of newly elected member for Ayawaso West
Wuogon, Ms. Lydia Seyram Alhassan.
