The biofuel used by the company reduces greenhouse gas emissions by 60 percent.
On April 1, 2022, Bolloré Logistics rolled into service a new shuttle running on B100 biofuel.
This end-to-end solution, designed for all pre and post air shipments, provides rotation six out of seven days between the Bolloré Logistics sites in Lyon and Roissy Charles De Gaule.
It is fully in line with Bolloré Logistics’ desire to decarbonize the solutions offered to its customers, whether by road, sea or air.
One hundred percent plant-based, renewable and totally traceable, the B100 type biofuel is made from French rapeseed oil only.
It reduces greenhouse gas emissions by 60 percent and fine particles by 80 percent.
“In the regions, we participate in several collective initiatives to decarbonize transport, whether with the airport, but also with associations anchored in their territories. We want to be a driving force and encourage our customers to use these more virtuous solutions,” said Géraldine Staron, Rhône-Alpes Est Regional Director of Bolloré Logistics.
Bolloré Logistics also aims to increase its modal shift services in the region by 15 to 20 percent, in particular by promoting the use of rail.
The company has also launched a major study with CSR Directors and Supply Chain Directors, in cooperation with a group of students from EM Lyon, to raise awareness among major shippers located in the region.
In the coming weeks, Bolloré Logistics will continue to commission and renew its fleet with four new trucks running on B100 with the objective of a 100 percent biofuel fleet in the coming years.
This initiative contributes to the company’s objective of reducing its CO2 emissions by 30 percent on the transport services delivered to its customers by 2030 in line with its CSR program “Powering Sustainable Logistics” launched in 2018.
