Bollore Port has continued with a comprehensive vaccination campaign to tackle the possible spread of coronavirus among its teeming workforce, APA can report.
Through the course of the past few weeks the logistics company has vaccinated 4, 529 out of the 6,497 people employed by Bolloré Ports, representing over 70 percent of its workforce.
Carried out in consultation with the health authorities of the various countries concerned, the vaccination is available to the employees of all Bolloré Ports entities on a voluntary basis.
Subcontractors are also benefiting from the vaccination.
The company says through the initiative, the company is looking to enhance access to vaccination, which is essential to preventing serious forms of the disease.
Bolloré Ports says it intends to continue its educational work with employees by regularly reminding them of the health recommendations to be followed.
These include taking preventive measures such as wearing masks, social distancing and regular hand washing, particularly in view of the appearance of new variants.
“The health of our employees is always one of our top priorities and we consider it essential to make it easier for them to get vaccinated and thus protect themselves against Covid–19. We will continue these prevention and vaccination actions in all our entities to achieve optimal vaccination coverage and effectively fight the spread of the virus,” said Christian Devaux, QHSE Director of Bolloré Logistics.
As of 11 June 2021, the International Coalition of Medicines Regulatory Authorities and the World Health
Organization jointly recommend widespread vaccination to prevent hospitalisation and help reduce the number of patients and the pressure on health systems caused by Covid–19.
This collective immunity will allow society to return to normal and economies to reopen, says Bollore Port in a statement.
