Bassolma Bazie officially took office as President of the CN-CES during a ceremony chaired by Captain Martha Celeste Anderson Dekomwin Medah, Chief of Staff of Burkinabe President Ibrahim Traore.
Created in November 2024, the CN-CES, attached to the Presidency of Faso, leads the activities of the Confederation bringing together Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger.
In his speech, Bazie reiterated his commitment to serve the three countries with “patriotism” and “determination”, while commending the leadership of the leaders of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES): General Assimi Goita, General Abdourahame Tiani and Captain Ibrahim Traoré.
The Commission’s main mission is to support the Burkinabe President in structuring the Confederation, with the aim of strengthening the independence and development of the three Sahelian states.
Appointed by presidential decree on December 9, 2024, Bazie was invited by the Chief of Staff to “develop and evaluate initiatives” to achieve the strategic objectives of the CN-CES.
Prior to this appointment, he was Minister of Civil Service, Labor and Social Protection in the dissolved government of Dr. Apollinaire Joachimson Kyelem de Tambela.
