The CEO of the Turkish drone manufacturer Baykar is made an officer of the Order of the Stallion, on the instruction of Captain Ibrahim Traore to whom he presented the medal during a ceremony.
“I received the Medal of the Order of the Stallion Officer, the highest national distinction” of Burkina, Haluk Bayraktar wrote.
He said the award was in recognition of his “outstanding contribution to the peace, security and anti-terrorism activities in Burkina Faso.”
The medal was presented to him by the Grand Chancellor of Burkina Faso, Andre Roch Compaore, during a solemn ceremony.
For several weeks, the army has been reporting on drone strikes against suspected jihadists. Among these combat aircraft are Bayraktar TB2 drones from the manufacturer Baykar.
The Bayraktar TB2 is Baykar’s best-known and most widely covered system, with a wide range of combat experience from Libya to Karabakh and most recently in Ukraine.
