APA – Ouagadougou (BurkinaFaso) – Visiting the families of soldiers who have fallen in the fight against armed terrorist groups, Captain Ibrahim Traore announced on Saturday the creation of an agency to take care of the victims of terrorism.
Burkina Faso has thousands of victims of terrorism.
“In perspective, there is an agency that we are creating at the Presidency of Faso to take care of widows, orphans and the wounded,” the Head of State announced.
Captain Traore explained that this structure aims to provide adequate care for wards of the Nation, and to train widows in trades in the various training centers of the National Armed Forces, to enable them to be financially independent.
In the meantime, he visited the homes of a soldier, a gendarme and a policeman who had fallen at the front to “inquire about their living conditions” and to “comfort and encourage” their respective families, according to the Presidency of Faso.
The gesture of the President of the Transition was well appreciated by the families visited. “I never imagined or believed that one day the Head of State would visit us,” Lucie Bognana, the widow of a policeman said.
Several centers for war widows and orphans exist in different parts of the country.
