A delegation from Egyptian Military Academy headed by Brig Gen Ahmed Ibrahim Mohammed Alam El Deen and 04 military officer cadets on Thursday ended their five-day study tour in Rwanda, a military source announced Thursday.
The purpose of their visit from 16th to 20th January 2022 was to conduct a study tour of officer basic training in Rwanda.
During their visit, the Egyptian Military Academy delegation was accompanied by their Defense Attaché to Rwanda, Brig Gen Hesham Rammah.
From 18th to 19th January 2022, the Egyptian Military Academy Delegation attended Officer Basic Training sessions at Rwanda Military Academy- Gako, where they interacted with the Academy Staff and explored the conduct of officer cadets training.
During their stay the Egyptian officers also paid respects to the victims of 1994 Genocide against Tutsi at Kigali Genocide Memorial and visited the Campaign against Genocide Museum at Parliament.
Egyptian Armed Forces and Rwanda Defense Forces (RDF) maintain good cooperation particularly in the field of military training.
In May last year, the Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces, Lt Gen Mohamed Farid visited the RDF and held bilateral discussions with the RDF Chief of Defense Staff, Gen J Bosco Kazura.
Rwanda and Egypt have been working on ways to strengthen bilateral ties and further mutual interests in economy and trade, as well as defense and security.
Rwanda has been sending some students to Egypt for military courses.
