APA – Abidjan (Côte d’Ivoire) – The aim of this organisation, which will represent the interests of commercial, industrial and service companies, is to build an economic bridge between Canadian and Ivorian economic operators.
The Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Cote d’Ivoire should soon be launched in Abidjan “under the presidency of Alain Kouadio, the CEO of Kaydan,” an Ivorian group, the Canadian ambassador to Cote d’Ivoire, Anderson Blanc announced this weekend.
The Canadian diplomat was speaking at the second edition of the Africa Canada Immigration and Investment Show (SACII), held on 12, 13 and 14 October 2023, on the banks of the Ebrie Lagoon.
The 2nd edition of this international trade show, organised around the theme “Win-win partnership: for a promising economic future between Africa and Canada,” had the overall objective of building an economic bridge for sustainable development between Africa and Canada.
The trade show brought together investors from Canada and Cote d’Ivoire, with 21 stands on display, including the Youth Employment Agency, the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Cote d’Ivoire, and the Ivorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Its aim is to create a unique space for networking, information and collaboration by integrating immigration and investment, and to provide leadership and make proposals on migration policy decisions linked to development,
Didier Konan, President of Akwaba Communty, the organising body of the SACII, congratulated the Canadian delegation for coming to Cote d’Ivoire. He pledged his full confidence in the development of business between Africa and Canada, and urged the various communities to get involved.
Dominic Mailloux, President of the ‘Federation des gens d’affaires francophones de l’Ontario’ was delighted to be making his first trip to Cote d’Ivoire, and spoke on behalf of the members of the board of directors of his Federation for the development of business between Canada and Africa.
Anderson Blanc believes that the African diaspora is a strength and a cultural diversity for Canada. And that immigration is an opportunity for his country to share, encouraging the organisers to pool their skills to develop win-win partnerships.
Following on from the ambassador, the representative of the Director General of the Diaspora, after thanking and congratulating the organisers of the show, expressed his department’s willingness to support such initiatives.
The Africa Canada Immigration and Investment Show is also planning to compile a directory of Canadian alumni to support and coach younger people and serve as resource persons for the State.
