Father Toussaint Zoumalde was killed in Ngaoundere, Cameroon as he was returning to his Baibokoum fraternity in Chad, the Chief Priest of the Capuchin Fathers of Chad and the Central African Republic, said in a statement issued Wednesday.
According to the statement, Father Zoumalde had gone to the Diocese of Bouar (West CAR) from which he hails in order to conduct training for priests of the archbishop’s court.
According to the statement, his remains will soon be transferred to Bouar.
Father Toussaint Zoumalde, who was a member of the Order of the Capuchin Fathers, was a longtime journalist on Siriri Radio in the Diocese of Bouar.
He wrote several religious songs in the CAR.
