Namibia’s main opposition party takes electoral dispute to court.

Nigerian President Bola Tinubu, has sent his congratulatory message to Mr. John Dramani Mahama on his victory in Ghana’s December 7 presidential election.

Ghana’s latest election has all the hallmarks of a democracy showing commendable maturity, cementing her reputation as one of Africa’s more stable democracies.

Although the official result of the election has not been declared by the Electoral Commission (EC), the former President, John Mahama, and the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), says that Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential Candidate, has called to congratulate him on his victory in the 2024 general elections.

Mahama has completed a political comeback eight years after losing the presidency to Nana Akufo-Addo.

Voters came out early on Saturday to cast their votes in the presidential and Parliamentary polls.

Over 18 million Ghanaians are registered for Saturday’s election of a new president and 275 parliamentarians.

The head of the junta in Gabon welcomed on Wednesday the strong approval of the Gabonese people for the new constitution which he considers “a break with past practices”.

In view of the senatorial elections scheduled for February 2, 2025, the Togolese government has published a decree governing the main aspects of the polls.

SWAPO vice president Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has been elected as Namibia’s fifth president, making history as the first woman to hold this position.
