A tragic road accident has claimed the lives of 13 persons in the Hadjer-Lamis province, located in the centre of Chad.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation, the accident, which occurred on Monday, February 24th, 2025, involved the collision of two vehicles.
It added that one of the vehicles, carrying passengers, collided with a parked tanker truck between the cities of Massaguet and Ngoura.
The statement explained that the impact resulted in the death of 13 persons, while 10 others sustained injuries.
The statement recalled that the accident followed a similar tragedy in Oum-Hadjer, which claimed the lives of 40 passengers.
Reacting to the recent incidents, the Minister of Transport, Fatima Goukouni Weddeye, urged drivers to strictly adhere to the country’s traffic code.
