The Minister of Hydrocarbons and Energy, Djerassem Le Bemadjiel, on Monday 17 April, announced in a press briefing the maintenance work started at the Djermaya refinery, causing the plant’s facilities to be shut down. This work, which began two weeks ago, will take 45 days.

of petroleum products.
“These products are stored in Ndjamena and Moundou, which have been selected as distribution centers. From these centers, all towns will be supplied,” he explained.
Faced with speculation of a probable shortage, the head of the Hydrocarbons Department called on the population not to give in to panic.
According to him, instructions have been given for the distribution, starting Monday, the strategic reserve made at the refinery.
During the same press conference, the minister said that the price of diesel at the pump had increased from CFA548 to CFA700 a liter. On the other hand, the price of gasoline remains unchanged at CFA518 per liter.
