The suspension of measures against the coronavirus only concerns those in force at Hassan Djamous
international airport in Ndjamena, the nation’s capital.
Measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19 at Hassan Djamous international airport in Ndjamena have been suspended. From now on, all travelers to Chad will not be required to present a Covid-19 vaccination record or a 72-hour-old PCR test to the medical teams at N’Djamena airport. Nor, in certain cases, will they be quarantined.
According to the Ministry of Public Health, this decision was prompted by the World Health Organization’s (WHO) declaration that “Covid-19 no longer constitutes an emergency of international concern.”
However, the Ministry of Public Health is maintaining its preventive measures (hand washing, social distancing and the wearing of masks).
Chad recorded its first case of a Covid-19 patient on March 19, 2020.
Since then, 7,701 people have tested positive for the coronavirus and 194 have died.
With the arrival of vaccines, 884,691 people have been vaccinated during campaigns organised by the ‘Coordination Nationale de Riposte Sanitaire’ (National Health Response Coordination).
