Chad on Wednesday voiced its intention to Moroccan authorities to soon open a Consulate General in Dakhla, in the Moroccan Sahara, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans living abroad said.
According to the Chadian authorities, this decision is part of the fraternal relations between King Mohammed VI and the President of the Republic of Chad, Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno, the ministry said in a statement.
It added that this decision of “this brotherly African country confirms and reflects the quality of bilateral ties, through its support for the Kingdom’s sovereignty over its Sahara, its territorial integrity and its national unity.
