President Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno of Chad recently received a presentation from Yvon Sana Bangui, governor of the Bank of the Central African States (BEAC), featuring samples of a new series of coins.
The new coins are slated for circulation across all six member nations of the Central African Economic and Monetary Community (CEMAC) in April.
They will replace the coins currently in use since 2002.
This currency change follows the BEAC’s introduction of new banknotes in December 2022.
