Chinese experts and officials on Wednesday shared their experience on fighting the COVID-19 with with Rwanda’s frontline doctors through video conferences, an official source confirmed to APA in Kigali.
According to the Rwandan Health Minister Daniel Ngamije, who participated in the video conference, two sides had fruitful exchanges, and the Rwandan side was able to learn from the experience of the 11 Chinese experts.
“China has already done a very big effort in controlling this outbreak,” said Dr Ngamije
In a related development, Rwanda has on Tuesday reported one COVID-19 recovered case and no new confirmed case from the results drawn from 896 sample tests.
With no reported fatalities yet, the East African country has recently partially eased the COVID-19 lockdown for 15 days and allowed some activities to resume operations.
ccording to the Government, the next two weeks will determine whether or not the process will be continued or reversed as people were have been asked to comply with some key guidelines issued by Health officials with respect to public places.
These include mandatory wearing of face masks, strict handwashing and use of sanitisers, observance of physical distancing and ban on public gathering.
Banks and financial institutions, categories of government offices and private sector will also operate between 6 am and 7 pm, according to the new official instructions.
Schools, places of worship, clubs, bars and gardens are to remain closed.
