APA-Abidjan (Cote d’Ivoire) Senior Magistrate Oumar Braman Koné, previously Prosecutor at the Economic and Financial Pole, has been appointed by decree as Public Prosecutor at the Abidjan Court of First Instance.
Mr. Koné was appointed by President Alassane Ouattara on July 24, 2023, replacing senior magistrate Christophe Adou Richard.
He was previously a public prosecutor at the Courts of 1st Instance of Abengourou (East) and Bouaké (Center).
On Tuesday, June 6, 2023, President Ouattara, issued a decree appointing three new members of the constitutional council, including Senior Magistrate Richard Christophe Adou.
They will take office on July 27, 2023.
Former Justice Minister Aimée Zebeyoux, a senior magistrate, and Sébastien Yédoh Lath, a public law lecturer and researcher, were also appointed as advisors to the constitutional council.
These appointments were made in as the membership of the constitutional council was being renewed.
This seven-member body, which regulates the functioning of public institutions, will also announce the final results of the presidential election.
Chantal Nanaba Camara, appointed by decree on May 9, 2023 to head the Ivorian constitutional council, officially assumed her role on July 20, 2023.
She is the first woman to chair the constitutional council in Côte d’Ivoire.
Ms. Michèle Nina Amoatta Kamagaté, a first-grade and first-group magistrate, formerly an adviser to the Abidjan Court of Appeal, has been appointed Prosecutor of the Economic and Financial Crimes Division, replacing Mr. Ouma Braman Koné.
She was previously an investigating magistrate, then a judge at the Court of First Instance in Abidjan, and a deputy prosecutor at the Court of First Instance in Daloa, in the west of the country.
