Jobst Von Kirchmann, the European Union (EU) Ambassador to Cote d’Ivoire, has expressed his optimism in this West African country’s quest for national reconciliation.
There is nothing like peace. That is why Bertin Konan Kouadio, the Ivorian Minister of Reconciliation and National Cohesion, has designed a national strategy to complete the process.
The European Union ambassador, Jobst Von Kirchmann, after a meeting on Tuesday with Mr. Kouadio, said the document is being finalized. “This is excellent news. The European Union can only congratulate the minister for these efforts. It is willing to support the government in the implementation of this strategy,” the diplomat said.
With stability in place, the EU plans to organize a business forum in Cote d’Ivoire to boost investment in the country. “We think it is the right time to invest, but also to reconcile because there are no electoral tensions,” Mr. Von Kirchmann added.
