The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has recorded 812 new cases and 7 new deaths of COVID-19 in past 24 hours, official figures show on Monday.
The new cases were recorded in Burkina Faso (15), Cape Verde (491), Ivory Coast (41), Ghana (46), Guinea-Bissau (2), Mali (90), Niger (15), Nigeria (26), Senegal (39), Sierra Leone (10) and Togo (37). The new deaths were recorded in Cape Verde (3) and Mali (4). West Africa now has 450,235 total cases, 5,918 total deaths and 419,515 total recoveries.
Nigeria (164,233) has the highest total cases compared to Ghana (91,709), Ivory Coast (45,560), Senegal (39,821), Guinea (21,460), Cape Verde (20,466), Burkina Faso (13,129), Togo (12,533), Mali (13,070), Benin (7,611), Gambia (5,720), Niger (5,131), Sierra Leone (4,038), Guinea-Bissau (3,712) and Liberia (2,042).
Moreover, Nigeria (2,061) has the highest total deaths compared to Senegal (1,091), Ghana (771), Mali (433), Ivory Coast (274), Niger (190), Cape Verde (192), Gambia (170), Burkina Faso (154), Guinea (138), Togo (119), Benin (95), Liberia (85), Sierra Leone (79) and Guinea-Bissau (66).
Also, Nigeria (154,332) has the highest total recoveries compared to Ghana (89,604), Ivory Coast (45,129), Senegal (38,539), Guinea (18,882), Cape Verde (18,041), Burkina Faso (12,759), Togo (10,208), Mali (7,432), Benin (6,728), Gambia (5,190), Niger (4,779), Guinea-Bissau (3,142), Sierra Leone (2,851) and Liberia (1,899).
Africa has registered 4,472,039 total cases, 118,279 total deaths and 3,989,359 total recoveries while the world has recorded 142,502,096 total cases, 3,038,767 total deaths and 121,151,375 total recoveries.
