The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has recorded 928 new cases and 25 new deaths of COVID-19 in past 24 hours, official figures show on Monday.
The new cases were recorded in Burkina Faso (19), Cape Verde (107), Ivory Coast (319), Guinea (103), Guinea-Bissau (4), Mali (98), Nigeria (104), Senegal (46) and Togo (128). The new deaths were recorded in Ivory Coast (5), Guinea (3), Mali (3), Nigeria (7) and Senegal (7). West Africa now has 431,176 total cases, 5,651 total deaths and 396,334 total recoveries.
Nigeria (162,593) has the highest total cases compared to Ghana (90,287), Ivory Coast (43,180), Senegal (38,566), Guinea (19,773), Cape Verde (17,125), Burkina Faso (12,692), Mali (9,871), Togo (9,955), Benin (7,100), Gambia (5,401), Niger (4,987), Sierra Leone (3,970), Guinea-Bissau (3,634) and Liberia (2,042).
Moreover, Nigeria (2,048) has the highest total deaths compared to Senegal (1,044), Ghana (740), Mali (379), Ivory Coast (237), Niger (185), Gambia (163), Cape Verde (165), Burkina Faso (145), Guinea (123), Togo (107), Benin (90), Liberia (85), Sierra Leone (79) and Guinea-Bissau (61).
Also, Nigeria (150,308) has the highest total recoveries compared to Ghana (87,137), Ivory Coast (38,719), Senegal (37,040), Guinea (16,480), Cape Verde (16,075), Burkina Faso (12,350), Mali (6,785), Togo (7,732), Benin (6,452), Gambia (5,030), Niger (4,586), Guinea-Bissau (2,940), Sierra Leone (2,801) and Liberia (1,899).
Africa has registered 4,222,683 total cases, 112,311 total deaths and 3,791,112 total recoveries while the world has recorded 128,008,014 total cases, 2,799,221 total deaths and 103,187,046 total recoveries.
