The people of eSwatini who are diabetic and facing amputation will be saved from this trouble after Cuba provided medicine that heals diabetic-related wounds.
About 50 people are amputated every month due to illnesses related to diabetes in eSwatini.
The good news were delivered by King Mswati III on Wednesday when he returned to the country from a two-week visit from the United Nations Climate Change Summit via Cuba.
“Their medicine is capable of healing the wounds and restoring full use of the affected limbs at about 90 per cent less the cost of treating diabetes,” the king said about the offer during a press conference held at the Ludzidzini Royal Residence.
The Cubans have also proposed to train local doctors on how to treat diabetes and also help the country with controlling tick using environmentally friendly remedies.
The king said eSwatini has welcomed Cuba to look at the country as a centre from which to serve the entire African continent with its medical innovation.
