A curfew has been introduced in the Ivorian city of Yamoussoukro after days of violence following last weekend’s elections, APA learned Sunday from official sources.
The curfew will last for a period of three days from Saturday, October 31 to Monday, November 2 from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., in the country’s administrative capital the Prefect said.
“The present curfew measure may be renewed at its expiration if needed,” a statement said .
Sources have also spoken about a curfew in Toumodi, a department in central Cote d’Ivoire, from Sunday, November 1, 2020 to Sunday, November 8, 2020 from 7:00 pm to 6:00 am.
Post-election violence has left several people injured and caused extensive material damage in Yamoussoukro and Toumodi last weekend.
