Cyclone Chido has wreaked havoc in parts of Mozambique, claiming 34 lives by Tuesday and leaving a trail of destruction in its path.
The storm, which made landfall in Mozambique on Sunday, has caused significant damage and disruption across the country.
According to the National Institute of Risk and Disaster Management, the northern-most Cabo Delgado province, which is where the cyclone had its first contact with Mozambique, has suffered the most casualties, with 28 people killed by the storm.
Six more fatalities have been recorded in the nearby Nampula and Niassa provinces.
The institute reported that more than 300 people have been injured by Cyclone Chido and nearly 23,600 homes and 170 fishing boats have been destroyed.
Overall, more than 175,000 people in Mozambique have been affected by the storm.
