This growing crisis is leaving displaced people with limited access to healthcare, warns medical charity Doctors Without Borders (MSF).
Living in overcrowded shelters, displaced people lack basic necessities like food, water, and healthcare. They rely heavily on host communities, increasing vulnerability to diseases like cholera and typhoid.
MSF deployed mobile clinics to deliver medical aid, treating over 2,100 patients with respiratory infections. However, significant challenges persist. Medical costs skyrocketed, particularly for women needing reproductive healthcare, and access to treatment for chronic diseases is hindered by a lack of supplies and expensive medication.
MSF urges immediate action to address the dire situation in Kassala, as well as in Darfur, Khartoum, and other eastern regions facing slow-arriving humanitarian aid.
