“It won’t be tomorrow (January 22nd) it is confirmed,” Tshimanga was quoted by Jeune Afrique as declaring.
The 56-year-old Tshisékédi was officially Sunday declared winner of the 30 December presidential election in the DRC by the Constitutional Court, with 38.57 percent of the votes, confirming the provisional results of the National Independent Electoral Commission (CENI).
According to the electoral commission, Tshisékédé was followed by Martin Fayulu with 34.8 percent of the votes, and Ramadany Shadari with 23.8 percent.
Since its independence in 1960, the DRC has had four presidents namely Joseph Kasa-Vubu (1960-1965), Joseph-Désiré Mobutu Sese Seko (1965-1997), Laurent-Désiré Kabila (1997-2001) and Joseph Kabila Kabange (2001-2019).
