The Congolese head of state was received on Monday, March 29 by the Emir of Qatar, Tamin Bin Hamad at the Prince’s Palace in Doha.
Felix Tshisekedi is the very first president of the Democratic Republic of the Congo to “be received by the Emir of Qatar.” Indeed, the successor of Joseph Kabila had “a tête-à-tête meeting” with Tamin Bin Hamad, followed by “a working session extended to experts from both countries.”
At the end of the meeting, the Presidency of the DRC announces, “many agreements and MoUs have been signed (among others) in the field of economic, trade and technical cooperation, as well as in the area of aeronautic and maritime cooperation.”
The agreements between the Central African country and Qatar “relate in particular to the protection of massive investments, the modernization and development of airport and port infrastructure, as well as capacity building for Congolese experts in various sectors of the country’s economy.”
