APA – Ndjamena (Chad) The current DR Congo leader is the main facilitator of the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS) overseeing the Chadian transition.
Congolese President Felix Tshisekedi, who is also current Chairman of ECCAS, is expected in Ndjjamena, the political capital of Chad, on Monday July 17, 2023.
According to Chadian officials, the visit is part of an evaluation of the Chadian transition following the national dialogue.
He was appointed ECCAS facilitator in the political crisis in Chad on October 25, 2022.
In Ndjamena, the Congolese leader will meet the various players involved in the transition, namely members of the government, representatives of political parties and civil society.
The aim will be to assess the implementation of the various recommendations of the inclusive national dialogue, which should lead to a return to constitutional order in 24 months’ time.
Another issue sure to be addressed is the thorny question around the massacres perpetrated during the October 20, 2022 demonstrations.
On this subject, the report of the ECCAS mission is still awaited.
In a message posted on social networks, the leader of the Transformers, Dr. Succes Masra, in exile, believes that “the exchanges will be placed under the sign of truth and credible action for reconciliation and not rhetoric without a future.”
”We place our final trust in you following the various frank exchanges upstream and the documents and information shared in a spirit of responsibility for reconciliation in justice and equality,” he told President Felix Tshisekedi, who had received him at the beginning of May 2023 in Kinshasa.
